Monday morning we decided to explore Nice, I took us to Colline du Château to start to the day. It’s a view point right next to the port, it takes 10 mins of walking up hill but well worth it. At the top is a small cafe to buy drinks and lots of beautiful view points.
After reaching the top we followed signs to the port walking down the other side of the hill, we grabbed a drink at a place called Gigi and enjoyed a spot of people watching. It was mostly restaurants and cafes at the port so we timed it well after our morning of walking! From here we head (via Monument aux Morts Nice which is very beautiful) back to our apartment, grabbing some bread, cheese and a cheap bottle of wine from a small shop on the way. We’re lucky enough to have a terrace, so eating in is just as enjoyable as eating out! We had a few hours before dinner and decided to head to the Promenade and soak up some sun on the beach. The pebble beaches where not as uncomfortable as I thought to lay down, but almost impossible to walk on without shoes, the locals make it look easy hoping in and out of the sea but I would definitely take waterproof shoes!
For dinner we head down to the old town, there was so many restaurants to choose from, most looking very similar! We decided on a Pizzeria and ate till we could barely move. We spent just under €50 and definitely felt we had our moneys worth. Before we head back we had a night stroll down the promenade, although it was nearly 11 it was still very lively yet still felt safe, it was lovely to wind down before bed!
